The Meningococcal Vaccine is given during early adolescence to help protect against this serious bacterial disease. A second dose is given later in high school.

Tdap is the recommended booster dose given prior to entering 7th grade to better control the increasing incidence of whooping cough. It may be repeated later in high school, prior to starting college.

HPV vaccine is approved for males and females, ages 9 years through 26 years to help prevent cervical cancer in females, and genital warts in males and females. It has also been shown to be effective in preventing anal precancerous lesions in males.

Note: if the HPV series is started at age 15 years or later, a 3 shot series is required (0,2, and 6 months).

After age 6 months, the Influenza Vaccine is recommended annually. The vaccine is available as an injection for ages 6 months and up.  The nasal mist vaccine for ages 2 years and up is currently not available.
